Fire guts Church of Christ building in Tennessee

Sunday night Andre R. Massengile, Preacher for the McClellan Avenue Church of Christ gave what would turn out to be his last sermon in that facility. Late Monday a fire destroyed most of the building in which the McClellan Avenue Church of Christ had been meeting since 1975.
Massengile marveled, “I preached on growing our faith on Sunday night. I wasn’t exactly expecting this. But God will do what He sees fit to do.”
Massingile stated that the cause of the fire was undetermined at this time, but that the inspectors were targeting an area behind a wall in the back end of the church in which electrical issues may have been the root cause.
