Expanding a Heritage: 5,300-piece collection benefits growing university library
We reported back in February on a leading New Testament scholar donating his extensive library to Heritage Christian University in Florence, Ala.
The TimesDaily in Florence has a nice feature about the collection:
It’s not a big, new, gleaming statue or sign — or anything else a passerby will notice on the campus of Heritage Christian University in Florence — but it’s just as special.
It’s a not a brand-new baby, though it fills the staff of HCU with such pride, they can’t wait to show it off to anyone who will come by Overton Memorial Library and take a look.
This new pride and joy of HCU is a 5,300-piece collection of scholarly items from the personal and professional library of Frederick William Danker, of St. Louis, the world’s leading authority on New Testament Greek.
“To anyone with a high level of scholarly interest in the New Testament, this is big,” said Bill Bagents, vice president of academic affairs at HCU, adding that this collection crosses all lines of faith or denomination.
