Preston Road Church of Christ 75th Anniversary

Preston Road Church of Christ will mark its 75th anniversary with services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2014.
The church is located on the corner of Preston and University at 6409 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75205.
Begun in 1939, the church has grown to a membership of 600 and a campus of 72,000 square feet that includes a sanctuary, fellowship hall, gymnasium, health clinic, youth and children’s wing and numerous other classrooms.
Wade Hodges is currently serving as the 15th preaching minister at the church.
“From planting successful churches in North Texas to training hundreds of ministers, to supporting numerous local outreach programs and missionary efforts spanning the globe, after 75 years, the Preston Road Church of Christ continues to build upon its rich legacy of advancing God’s purposes by helping others,” stated Dan Branch, one of the church’s elders. “It’s been an honor to serve both the Dallas community and this church for many years.”
Preston Road Church of Christ has served the Dallas community with a number of outreach programs that include: The Center for Christian Education in 1965, helping launch Central Dallas Ministries – now CitySquare in 1988, New Friends New Life in 1998 and Christ’s Family Clinic in 2003.
The church has also supported more than 200 missionaries and foreign works over the course of her history. This includes the full support of a work in Chiang Mai Thailand for the last 20 years, an orphanage, school and clinic in Kisumu, Kenya and a current partnership building houses for the poor in Guatemala.
The public is invited to attend anniversary services and activities to help us celebrate 75 years. There will be an Open House on Saturday, November 8 from 5-8pm. The building will be open for tours, dinner from the Slow Bone and activities for the children. Sunday morning, November 9, there will be a reception from 9:30-10:30 a.m. between worship services.
