Herald of Truth, a media ministry supported by Churches of Christ, reports that nearly 30 Iglesias de Cristo (Churches of Christ) in the Central American nation of El Salvador have participated in a multimedia evangelistic campaign.
The ministry reports:
Tim Archer, Director of Spanish Speaking Ministries at Herald of Truth and speaker for the Spanish radio programs “Lea La Biblia” (“Read the Bible”) and “Esperanza Para La Vida,” (“Hope for Life”) Steve Ridgell, Herald of Truth’s Director of Ministry and Rigaberto Vargas, Central America volunteer coordinator for Herald of Truth, along with many local preachers, conducted a four-day Gospel meeting in 12 different congregations in and around San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. Then, on Sunday, members of 16 different congregations gathered in a central location in the capital for a combined worship service. Numerous other congregations agreed to do the follow-up of those individuals who asked for more study. The result from the four-day effort was 55 new contacts and at least three baptisms.
The San Salvador campaign began in August with the initial airing of the two radio programs. 35,000 pieces of literature have been printed and Spanish translated Bibles have been purchased.
The campaign will continue through July of 2013, capstoned with another evangelistic outreach event.
The local churches of El Salvador will do the follow up of those who express interest throughout the year.
