NorthEscambia.com in Alabama reports:

A Flomaton man is charged with stealing a woman’s purse during prayer at a local church because, he told police, he was smoking crack in Century and ran out of money.
The man, later identified as 30-year old Morris Andy Cumbie, walked into the Sunday evening service at the Flomaton Church of Christ about 6:15. Witnesses told Flomaton Police that Cumbie sat down in a pew, and as soon as heads were bowed for the opening prayer, he grabbed a church member’s purse and bolted out the door.

    Adam,
On second thought, I changed the headline to “Crack user.” It’s probably more appropriate.

Bobby, thanks for changing the headline. Too bad the URL still has it; it’s what I noticed in my inbox.

So sad. The world is filled with people in need of help. If only we could spend more time sharing the good news of Jesus. We deal with people in bad situations with our church planting work, but not as much lately because the economy is so terrible and there are less funds for church planters and missionaries to keep their good works going.

By the way Bobby, As someone mentioned that the URL still uses the original wording for the article, you can go back to the post and edit the permalink and change the word some people find offensive and click OK. That would complete the changed URL. I know it would mess up search results and lead to a 404 page if found in a search engine, but really how many people will be doing a google search for the former article name? : )
