Lubbock Christian University (LCU) invites nominations and applications for the position of President. The successful candidate will be a deeply spiritual and prayerful person, Christ-centered in word and deed, with an ability to enunciate a spiritual purpose for every part of the student, faculty, and staff experience.
The LCU President is the chief executive officer of the University reporting to the Board of Trustees. As the CEO, the president works in close collaboration not only with the Board of Trustees, but also with a wide range of internal and external constituencies to provide overall leadership and direction for the University.
LCU was founded in 1957 by members of the Churches of Christ who came together to establish a Christian university on the South Plains of Texas for the purpose of preparing and equipping students for lives of Christian service. LCU is committed to continuing to walk with, to serve, and to be sustained by that fellowship. LCU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award Associate’s degrees, Bachelor’s degrees and Master’s degrees. LCU offers 66 undergraduate majors and more than 23 graduate degrees.
Leading candidates for the presidency of Lubbock Christian University will have distinguished records of both professional accomplishment and administrative experience in the field of higher education, service to the church, or such other fields of endeavor as business, government, foundations, or nonprofit enterprise. A terminal degree is preferred. These candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to the mission of Lubbock Christian University and will have a vision for the role of LCU and Christian higher education in the 21st Century.
