Position Announcement in the Natural Sciences

Tenure -Track Assistant Professor of Biology, Cellular/Molecular Biology

Pepperdine University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Biology.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or will complete at Ph.D. by June 2020) in biology, cell biology, biochemistry or a closely related discipline. Well-qualified candidates will be able to contribute to the excellence and vibrancy of the Pepperdine experience through their teaching, research, and their service to both Pepperdine and our surrounding community.

The biology program seeks a faculty member with expertise in the areas of cell biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology. As teaching is our foremost emphasis at Seaver College (http://seaver.pepperdine.edu/about/mission/), candidates should demonstrate exceptional interest and effectiveness in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Candidates should have the ability to establish a productive research program that welcomes undergraduate research students and engages them in scholarly laboratory research. Well-equipped laboratories are available for teaching and undergraduate research in a variety of areas of biology. Scholarly collaboration among biology faculty as well as with faculty from other disciplines (e.g., chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics) is encouraged.
