NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As Hurricane Isaac made landfall Tuesday, and hung over the Gulf Coast Wednesday, relief organizations in Tennessee waited for the call to head south and help.
Crews at the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief have hundreds of boxes of supplies ready to take into areas affected by the storm.
As soon as Isaac came on the radar, managers at Churches of Christ Disaster got to work.
“If something happens in a certain town, or certain area, we’ll call them, let them know we’re available and let us know,” said Joe Dudney, executive director of the relief organization.
The group has several truckloads of family food boxes loaded and ready to head to the hardest hit areas on the coast.

Our Oklahoma based COC medical group is traveling to Haiti Oct 4 to hold remote clinics and deliver/administer meds and education to churches in Lalomas and St. Marth, Haiti. We anticipate that the flooding from Isaac will cause a spike in Cholera in coming weeks.
