Church of Christ in Texas avoids major fire damage thanks to teenager

KCEN.TV in Temple, Texas, reports:

A Temple church was spared from major fire damage yesterday evening thanks to a 16-year-old girl.
The girl was riding in a vehicle near the area of South 43rd Street and West Avenue T when she smelled something burning and insisted her father call authorities.
Firefighters were then dispatched to the area and spent 15 minutes searching the neighborhood nearby before coming upon West Avenue T Church of Christ.
They saw burning debris and ceiling damage through the front door.
That’s when they forced their way into the building and put the fire out.
