Church members (mostly) celebrate in Mozambique
Church members in a village near Montepuez, Mozambique were happy – with at least one exception – to see a team of missionaries from the United States.
Four couples on the team were treated as the guests of honor at acelebration hosted by the church, missionaries Chad and Amy Westerholmreported in early Ocotber.
The team moved to Montepuez two years ago, but due to politicaltensions in the area, the provincial government asked the missionariesto leave and wait in a neighboring province until granted approval toreturn. Churches in Mozambique and the United States participated in aDay of Prayer and Fasting for the missionaries in March. In late Julythe team was given permission to return to Montepuez. “We are gratefulfor all the ways God has provided for us, despite circumstances soamazingly contrary to what we had planned or expected,” said teammember Rachel Howell.
