Christian Scholars Conference tackles ‘Emerging Shape of Global Christianity’
ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH. — The 27th annual Christian Scholars Conference met at Rochester College recently, with the theme “The Emerging Shape of Global Christianity.”
Organizers invited Jenkins, “to encourage intellectual diversity and stimulate academic interaction,” said David Fleer, the conference’s board chairman.
The event urged scholars to reflect on the shifting of Christianity from a decidedly Western enterprise to a Christianity influenced by the global south and African cultures, Fleer said.
More than 120 scholars from 40 colleges and universities participated.
