CROWLEY’S RIDGE COLLEGE
PARAGOULD, ARK. — Crowley’s Ridge celebrated its 60th anniversary this fall, welcoming about 400 alumni and guests.
The program featured performances from past Choralaires, speakers from each of its six decades, comments from past presidents as well as current President Richard Johnson and a meal provided by the college. Former state Sen. Tim Woolridge, now Crowley’s Ridge’s advancement executive, emceed.
Crowley’s Ridge opened as a two-year Christian college in 1964. It became a four-year college in 2008 and now offers nine degree programs in the fields of biblical studies, business, education and arts and sciences.

FAULKNER UNIVERSITY
MONTGOMERY, ALA. — Faulkner awarded $2 million in scholarships to 42 Lads to Leaders participants who competed in the recent Zorn/L2L Faulkner University Invitational.
The event’s name honors the late Jack and Frances Zorn, founders of Lads to Leaders. Jack Zorn, a preacher, served on Faulkner’s board of trustees for decades and twice was recognized as the university’s alumnus of the year.

Lads to Leaders, a Christian youth training program, is headquartered on the Faulkner campus. It’s led by executive director Roy Johnson, who also serves on Faulkner’s board.
Major scholarship winners included Kirkley Bramlett, Christian Otey and Colby Johnson. Students from 13 states traveled to Faulkner for the invitational.
“This is the largest scholarship day in the history of Faulkner University, and we are so pleased we are able to provide these funds in support of our Lads to Leaders and Leaderettes,” President Mitch Henry said.

FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY
HENDERSON, TENN. — Freed-Hardeman is creating what it describes as “an expanded community of Christian learning.” The university has added four Christian high schools in Tennessee and Alabama as dual education partners.

“Each of these schools has a special relationship with Freed-Hardeman University, and we look forward to watching these relationships grow even further,” said Jared Gott, assistant dean of emerging and innovative programs.
The schools are Ezell-Harding Christian School in Antioch, Tenn.; Winchester Christian Academy in Tennessee; Mars Hill Bible School in Florence, Ala.; and Jefferson Christian Academy in Birmingham, Ala.
“This partnership offers our students a valuable opportunity to begin their college journey while still in high school,” said Eric Carroll, guidance counselor for Ezell-Harding Christian School.
In all, Freed-Hardeman now partners with 17 high schools in its dual enrollment program, leaders said. It also serves homeschooled families through online dual enrollment courses.
PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY
MALIBU, CALIF. — Pepperdine President Jim Gash welcomed philanthropist and civic leader Rick Caruso and Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt to campus as part of the President’s Speaker Series.
Caruso and Stitt discussed key election-year issues before an audience of nearly 400 in Pepperdine’s Smothers Theatre.
The recent event began with Gash expressing his vision for the series: “At Pepperdine, we talk about things that matter. We talk about big ideas. We ask the big questions. We seek truth together. One of the most valuable ways of seeking truth together is through dialogue.”
He then introduced Caruso and Stitt, noting, “Though they disagree on some very important issues, they are ready and willing to engage together in dialogue, to seek truth together.”
