The Tennessean in Nashville reports:
The last days of Jacob Akers’ life were happy ones. He was poised to kick-start his childhood dream of attending medical school this month. On July 4, he proposed to his high school sweetheart.
Three days later, Akers’ friends and family were hit with unspeakable grief after a car crash killed him.
The 22-year-old Lipscomb University graduate was driving on Highway 49 in Charlotte, Tenn., when a Dodge truck veered into his lane, hitting him head-on.

Kyrsten Turner, who graduated alongside Akers in May, spoke to Lipscomb’s student news service.
“From the very start, Jacob was never afraid to ask a question or to speak out for what he believed to be right. He had a true, servant heart, and it was evident by his attitude that Christ was forefront in his life,” Turner said. “Jacob is going to be missed so, so much.”
