Spiritual leadership in the church today is not what it needs to be. It hasn’t been for a long time. Christians today are not very knowledgeable and not very spiritual. Could it be that they haven’t had the kind of leadership they need? Jesus trained his apostles (spiritual leaders) for three years before they were ready for the job. Yet in the Churches of Christ men are appointed as elders (spiritual leaders) without any kind of training in spiritual leadership, believing that their job is to manage the church. Is it? Is church management the job of spiritual leaders?
