Houston has more Churches of Christ than any other city in the world. The first such church in Texas formed in 1836, but it wasn’t until 1903 that a small band of Christians organized the “First Church of Christ” in Houston. This volume tells how these congregations grew and multiplied in the town that became the foremost city of the South.
