Back to Bolivia: Missionary returns after cancer surgery
Jenny Reyes is thankful to God for the Christians who rallied around her as she battled liposarcoma, a malignant tumor in her left leg.
Reyes and her husband, Erik, returned to Sucre, Bolivia, where they serve on a mission team, after surgery in Texas to remove the tumor. The surgeon and the anesthesiologist provided their services for free.
Nonetheless, the Reyes faced high medical bills. The Christian Chronicle reported on the family’s needs, and readers responded. The couple returned to Bolivia debt-free.
“Thank you so much,” Erik Reyes said. “God opened the door there, and people responded. Praise God.”
Just weeks after the surgery, Jenny can walk, jump rope and jog. A physical therapist who watched her recovery said it was a miracle. Her husband agreed.
