Chellie Ison

Chellie Ison, better known to viewers in Oklahoma as Chellie Mills, joined the Chronicle in June of 2016 to help us focus on reaching our audience entirely outside the realm of our print edition. Her focus is on our website and various social media platforms, including FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Ison is an Emmy award winning reporter. She came to the Chronicle with 11 years of television reporting experience and multiple awards. Most recently, she worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for KFOR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City. On Sunday mornings she produced and anchored the station\’s two-and-a-half-hour broadcast — and still managed to make it to second service at the Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Ison has a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism from Oklahoma State University. She and her husband, Nathan, are now dedicated members of the Memorial Road Church of Christ were they serve as co-directors of the Celebrate Recovery program. Her husband is a mechanical design engineer for 48 Automation in Oklahoma City. They have two children, Brixton and Ila, and a chiweenie, Zoey.
