HONG KONG — Standing behind a banner that read “Jesus cares for you,” members of the Wanchai Church of Christ participated in their first “Singing in the Park” outing in Hong Kong’s Tamar Park.

Twenty-five members signed up to take part in the event, said minister Raj Buo, “but praise God, 39 (or one-third) of the congregation showed up.” The singers distributed Bible tracts.

Church members also sang at a home for the elderly and plan a three-day gospel campaign to coincide with the arrival of the Year of the Dragon on Feb. 10.

GHANA

ATEIKU — Members of more than 60 churches attended the annual Bible conference sponsored by Ateiku Christian Ministries. Among the guests was Douglas Boateng, a longtime church elder, businessman and mentor of Lawrence Oduro. Ateiku Christian Ministries, for which Oduro serves as board president, includes a hospital, a Christian school, a well-drilling program and a school of evangelism.

“We officially named the school of evangelism building after elder Douglas for his dedication to spreading the Gospel in every country (where) he franchises his company,” Oduro said. The conference resulted in 49 baptisms, Oduro said.
