AMEN seeks to connect soldiers, congregations
The AMEN ministry — American Military Evangelizing Nations — can bring the two together.
The 25-year-old ministry, led by Don Yelton with assistance from his wife, Harriet, and sponsored by the White’s Ferry Road church, West Monroe, La., helped bring together 600 singles and families in the service with local congregations in 2002.
In 2003 with massive deployments and the possibility of war, the need is greater than ever, Don Yelton says.
For AMEN to put soldiers in touch with church members, families can send their member’s information via mail or e-mail or supply it on the ministry’s Web site (www.amenministry.net).
The site contains a full explanation of AMEN’s procedures and history.
Information needed if available is the person’s full name, rank, branch of service, date of birth, mailing address with ZIP code or APO, home phone, duty phone, e-mail address, any special needs or comments and the family’s home contact information.
