“This won’t be the last time we face something like this, it’s not, it’s just life God never promised to deliver us from these things he promised to lead us through it,” Senior Minister Jason Shepherd told the crowd of about 400 people.
On Thursday, a drainage culvert which runs under the Madison Church of Christ backed up because of heavy rains causing 4ft. of raw sewage to back up into the building’s basement.
“It was it wasn’t just water that rose up it was water that rushed though, it was like a river,” Shepherd explained.
On Sunday morning, Northfield Church of Christ opened their doors at a Hendersonville Middle School, so that parishioners from Madison had a place to pray and worship.
The Northfield church is a satellite campus of the Madison church, meeting in Hendersonville, Tenn., at Knox Doss Middle School at Drakes Creek.
