ACU plans Affordable Care Act webinar to help ministers
The Siburt Institute for Church Ministry at Abilene Christian University has every minister’s best interests at heart.
That’s why its teaming with Christian Leaders Benefits Alliance (CLBA) to present a live webinar on healthcare to give ministers insights into the government’s new Affordable Care Act.
The webinar will take place Monday, Aug. 19, from 7-8:30 p.m. ACU chancellor Dr. Royce Money (’64) – who also is executive director of the Siburt Institute – will be joined by panelists James Wright (’03) , area vice president of Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc.; Jim Orr (’86) , attorney and partner at Francis, Orr, & Totusek, LLP; and Jon Mullican, president of CLBA and executive minister of Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas. Money says that ministers, particularly those in small and medium-sized churches, are relatively unaware of the consequences of their healthcare options as this new law fully takes effect in January.

FeedbackSo happy to see this being done. Kudos, again, to Dr. Money.Dave SpradlinAugust, 17 2013Thanks ACU and the Siburt Institute for Church Ministry for taking the lead to inform preachers of the new “Affordable Care Act”!Ferman CarpenterAugust, 19 2013There are alternatives that most Americans aren’t aware of. Christians also have the option to join a medical sharing program. This can be complimented with a claims adjustment service to cut claims cost up to 75%. Critical Illness is usually added for a Lump-sum benefit.
For most of us, participating in the ACA Rationing Plan doesn’t make sense, nor is it patriotic.

However, we’re getting ready to change our website format so that this blog and our regular website will be combined under one banner.
