1,000 wells around the world
AKDESÉ, Haiti — In this remote mountain village, water gushes from…
Hope for Haiti’s Children, a ministry supported by Churches of Christ, reports:
A big yellow “Blue Bird” bus was welcomed … to Port-au-Prince amidst the excitement and joy of our Haitian staff and friends. The bus was donated by J.P. Transportation and flown to Port-au-Prince through the generosity of the U.S. Air Force Denton Program. HFHC is so grateful to everyone who facilitated the donation and transport of this valuable asset. The bus will not only provide a more efficient method of school transport but will also provide transportation to our annual youth camps and medical clinics!
The USAF plane which carried the big yellow bus also arrived with a supply of beans and corn grits which will be used to supplement our Food Program.
Here’s more about the bus airlift operation from WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio:
Airmen and reservists at the 910th Air Reserve Station in Vienna were busy Friday loading a school bus onto a cargo plane destined for Haiti.
The mission is part of the Denton Program which makes humanitarian aid missions to different parts of the world.
The cargo loaded Friday was part of a mission project through Hope for Haiti’s Children, based out of Middlefield, Ohio.
“They support the orphanages down there and this bus will get those kids in the orphanages to their schools,” said Sr. Master Sgt. Kevin Massie. “Sometimes they don’t go to school unless they have transportation.”
