The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn., reports:

For those who have spent time around Stan Bronson, the young-at-heart 83-year-old fixture on the University of Memphis campus and Tiger sporting events for more than 50 years, there are the stories. It seems as if everyone has a favorite.

A celebration of Bronson’s 84th birthday July 19 will double as a fundraising campaign for his medical expenses. Members of Branson’s congregation, the Highland Church of Christ in Cordova, Tenn., are expected to attend, the newspaper reports.
